Basalt skates past Rifle with ease

Recap: Basalt Longhorns vs. Rifle Bears
The Basalt Longhorns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Rifle 78-31 on the road. Basalt has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 22 points or more this season.
Elias Schendler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Zealand Lane was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Basalt now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Rifle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Basalt will take on Moffat County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Moffat County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Rifle, they will be playing at home against Steamboat Springs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Steamboat Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
