Baseball Recap: North Hardin Wins Going Away Against Fort Knox

North Hardin got themselves on the board against Fort Knox on Thursday, but Fort Knox never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 13-0. Considering the Trojans have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Thomas Lirot was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for North Hardin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colin Hamilton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Hardin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for North Hardin and bumps their season record up to 11-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Fort Knox, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Hardin will welcome Taylor County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Knox, they will host Bethlehem at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
