Thayer Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 52-19 win over the Deshler Dragons. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Thayer Central found their leader in freshman Leah Havel, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Havel. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wiedel, who posted five points and three steals.

Thayer Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Deshler, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Thayer Central will venture away from home to face off against Wilber-Clatonia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thayer Central is facing Wilber-Clatonia at the right time seeing as Wilber-Clatonia is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Deshler, they will head out to take on Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deshler will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Hampton will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's game.
