Soccer Game Preview: Olympian vs. Sweetwater

The Olympian Eagles will face off against the Sweetwater Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Olympian turned things around against Montgomery on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Aztecs 2-1.

Meanwhile, Sweetwater kept a clean sheet against Sage Creek back in December of 2024. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Bobcats. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Sage Creek with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bryan Diaz, Kevin Moreno, Faisal Musah Muhama, and Diego Hernandez.

Sweetwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five matchups. As for Olympian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-1.

Olympian suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Sweetwater when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Can Olympian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
