Softball Recap: New Deal Takes a Loss

New Deal lost against Tahoka back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Deal Lions fell 12-7 to the Tahoka Bulldogs.

Jazmynn Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Martinez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

New Deal has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Tahoka moved to 4-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Deal will face off against Hale Center at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Tahoka, they will take on New Home at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. This will be Tahoka's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
