Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

Catholic Central easily dispatched Varsity Opponent last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Catholic Central Crusaders fell just short of the Ballston Spa Scotties by a score of 64-61 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 76-58 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

When it comes to explaining why Catholic Central lost, don't look at Sei'Mir Roberson. Despite the final result, he posted 30 points and six rebounds. The contest was Roberson's 13th in a row with at least 22 points. Qwameik Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 18 boards.

Catholic Central's record is now 12-8. As for Ballston Spa, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Catholic Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ballston Spa, they will face off against Queensbury at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th. Queensbury is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
