Softball Game Preview: Flint Hill Huskies vs. Potomac School Panthers

Flint Hill is 1-9 against Potomac School since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Huskies will head out to square off against the Panthers at 4:15 p.m.

On Thursday, Flint Hill came up short against National Cathedral and fell 6-2. The loss put an end to the Huskies' undefeated start to the season.

Cate Stanley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Flint Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Potomac School duked it out with St. Andrew's Episcopal on Thursday. The Panthers never let the Lions get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Potomac School now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Flint Hill, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Flint Hill might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Potomac School in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
