Softball Preview: Westfield Area Pioneers vs. Nekoosa Papermakers

Westfield Area is 8-1 against Nekoosa since May of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Westfield Area Pioneers will look to defend their home field against the Nekoosa Papermakers at 5:00 p.m. Westfield Area will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.

Westfield Area is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against Wild Rose (and have done all season long). Westfield Area was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Wild Rose on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Westfield Area considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Natalee Meinke made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meinke has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Meinke was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off six RBI, four runs, and four doubles while going 5-for-5.

In other batting news, Carly Drew was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kylie Barton, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
