Basketball Recap: Creek Valley Comes Up Short

Creek Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Platte Blue Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-44 back in January.

Despite the loss, Creek Valley still got an impressive performance from Lane Brenneman, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Brenneman's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Mason Timm was another key player, putting up 15 points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Creek Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Platte only eight offensive boards.

South Platte got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Estrada out in front who to rack up 18 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Estrada a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Conner Evans, who en route to 15 points.

Creek Valley now has a losing record of 9-10. As for South Platte, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Creek Valley has already played their next game, a 47-21 defeat against Wallace on the 21st. As for South Platte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-30 win against Sutherland on the 21st.
