Softball Recap: Madison County Takes a Loss

Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 23-8 to the Page County Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in April.

Madison County's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Page County, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Coming up, Madison County will venture away from home to face off against Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountaineers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Page County, they will face off against Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3, the Rams 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
