Basketball Recap: Wadleigh Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-40, which was the final score in the Wadleigh Harlem Hellfighters's tilt against West End on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Harlem Hellfighters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while West End are ranked 96th).

This is the second loss in a row for Wadleigh and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for West End, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wadleigh will face off against Urban Assembly Performing Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West End, they are taking a road trip to challenge Baruch College at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Baruch College has won four straight at home, while West End won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
