Football Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gateway was the 8-7 winner over Aurora Central when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Olympians took a 19-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Thursday. The Olympians just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.

Westin Rayburn threw for 114 yards and one touchdown. Lyric Wynn was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards.

Aurora Central was led to victory by Markell Perkins and Julian Harris. Perkins rushed for 60 yards and a pair of scores, while Harris rushed for 101 yards. Perkins didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended one pass.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Aurora Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Gateway wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 49-0 win against Adams City on the 18th. As for Aurora Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-0 victory against Greeley Central on the 18th.
