Basketball Game Preview: Tri-County North Panthers vs. Arcanum Trojans

Tri-County North is 0-9 against Arcanum since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Tri-County North Panthers will welcome the Arcanum Trojans at 7:30 p.m.

Tri-County North is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookville.

Meanwhile, Arcanum narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Northmont 46-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Tri-County North better keep an eye on Caroline Long. She was instrumental in Arcanum's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Long has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Hein, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Arcanum is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Tri-County North, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Things could have been worse for Tri-County North, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-45 loss to Arcanum when the teams last played back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Long, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.
