Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Platte Valley on Friday, Air Academy came back down to earth. The Kadets lost 3-0 to the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles on Friday.

Air Academy's offense was headlined by Rosie Harmes and Elly Siebert, who picked up five kills apiece. They were helped by Audrey Husemann and Jiselle Rodriquez, who contributed nine assists each. Rodriquez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Mountain Vista got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Morella out in front who had 16 digs and two assists. Brie Bowyer was another key player, getting 11 assists and four digs.

Air Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Mountain Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Air Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Niwot on the 1st. As for Mountain Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Lewis-Palmer on the 1st.
