Anderson piles up the points against Muncie Central

Recap: Anderson Indians vs. Muncie Central Bearcats

The Anderson Indians entered their tilt with the Muncie Central Bearcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Anderson blew past Muncie Central, posting a 64-30 victory on the road. Given Anderson's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Muncie Central is ranked 149th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Damien King was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 16 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Warfield, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.

Muncie Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kye Hiatt, who scored five points. DeMarkis Cole was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Anderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Muncie Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anderson will challenge Kokomo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kokomo has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,491 points over their last 21 contests. As for Muncie Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yorktown is on a three-game streak of home losses, Muncie Central a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
