Basketball Recap: Belen Comes Up Short

Belen was the 68-65 winner over Highland when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Belen Eagles lost 58-34 to the Highland Hornets on Tuesday. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Highland was led to victory by Jerry Moody and Jesus Licon. Moody dropped a double-double with 17 points and 23 rebounds, while Licon went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and seven boards. The contest was Licon's fourth in a row with at least 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Belen and nudges their season record down to 10-13. As for Highland, their record now sits at 11-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grants the next time they take the court. Highland will host Grants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Belen will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
