Soccer Game Preview: Union County vs. Lumpkin County

Union County hasn't had much luck against Lumpkin County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Union County took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against North Hall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trojans two weeks ago, sneaking past 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Union County.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Lumpkin County made sure to put some goals up on the board against Commerce two weeks ago. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for Lumpkin County, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Union County's record now sits at 7-5-1. As for Lumpkin County, their record is now 11-3.

Union County might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Lumpkin County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
