Football Recap: Sentinel Spartans vs. Capital Bruins
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sentinel can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 50-18 loss at the hands of the Capital Bruins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 41-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Although Sentinel took the loss, they still got scores from Jaxon Allery and Ryan Haidle.
It was another big night for Merek Mihelish, who threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 94 yards on only six carries for Capital. Mihelish's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Drew Almquist was another key player, gaining 125 total yards and three touchdowns.
Sentinel now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Capital, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
