Football Recap: Cypress Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Cypress, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Crean Lutheran Saints by a score of 21-12 on Wednesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Centurions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Saints are ranked 167th).

When it comes to explaining why Crean Lutheran lost, don't look at Allyson Schmida. Despite the final result, she rushed for 54 yards and one score, and also threw for 138 yards and one touchdown.

Cypress' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-5. As for Crean Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Coincidentally, Cypress and Crean Lutheran will both be playing Sonora the next time they take the field. The Saints will head out to face the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Centurions will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
