Basketball Recap: Weir Takes a Loss

If Weir was feeling good fresh off their 80-56 takedown of Madonna last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Weir Red Riders took a 39-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brooke Bruins on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-33 back in January.

Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Brooke, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-14 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brooke beat Weir by a score of 39-30 on Thursday.
