Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Has No Trouble Against Heritage

Blue Ridge came out on top against Heritage on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Knights blew past the Hawks 13-0. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Ellie Schlieper made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Carsyn Stiger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Woliung, who earned three runs and three stolen bases.

Blue Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Blue Ridge now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Heritage, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.
