Baseball Recap: Mount Michael Benedictine Comes Up Short

Mount Michael Benedictine was the 16-12 winner over Plattsmouth when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Mount Michael Benedictine fell just short of Plattsmouth by a score of 8-7 on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jackson Teetor was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Barett Sykora was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. JJ Stiles also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Mount Michael Benedictine's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Plattsmouth, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
