Basketball Recap: Athens Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lee, Athens was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Tanner Rattlers by a score of 74-63. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rattlers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Tanner still got an impressive performance from Kaden Freeman, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Pryor, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points.

The victory got Athens back to even at 1-1. As for Tanner, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Athens will head out to take on Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tanner, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lauderdale County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
