Basketball Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Takes a Loss

After flying high against First Assembly Christian last Thursday, Lausanne Collegiate came back down to earth. The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx fell just short of the Harding Academy Lions by a score of 65-63 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lynx have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Lausanne Collegiate saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zuri Mcclure went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Josh Taylor was another key player, going 7 of 15 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Chazaiah Curry was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards for Harding Academy. The dominant performance also gave Curry a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Fred Martin, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Lausanne Collegiate has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Harding Academy, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Lausanne Collegiate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-36 loss against Evangelical Christian on the 17th. Harding Academy has also already played their next contest, a 67-52 victory against St. George's on the 17th.
