Basketball Recap: Senatobia Warriors vs. New Albany Bulldogs
Senatobia's game on Tuesday was all tied up 34-34 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 67-55 to the New Albany Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-64 back in December of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Albany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Hubbard, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Hubbard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Issac Gilbert, who posted eight points in addition to 17 boards and five blocks.
Senatobia's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for New Albany, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Senatobia will venture away from home to square off against North Pontotoc at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Albany, they will be taking part in a tournament against West Union at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as New Albany comes in on three and West Union on six.
