Soccer Game Preview: Brenham vs. Montgomery

Brenham and Montgomery are an even 3-3-1 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long. The Brenham Cubs and the Montgomery Bears will meet on Tuesday for a tough Bear Battle. Brenham's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Brenham's offense. They came up short against College Station on Thursday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Cougars are ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, Montgomery kept a clean sheet against College Station on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cougars 1-0. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one goal.

Montgomery's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4-2. As for Brenham, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
