Football Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Has No Trouble Against Noblesville

There's no place like home for Hamilton Southeastern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Noblesville Millers with a sharp 31-6 victory on Friday. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for the Royals this season.

Hamilton Southeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deaken Johnson led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and a pair of TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Toner, who picked up 108 receiving yards and one score.

Hamilton Southeastern's run defense was locked in: Noblesville could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least eight total tackles, Kian Kelly stood above the rest. He made eight total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Hamilton Southeastern's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.3.

Hamilton Southeastern's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Dryden Moore was especially locked on to Noblesville's QB and sacked him twice. Hamilton Southeastern got some further help from Kelly: he made eight total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

With the win, Hamilton Southeastern broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Noblesville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 815 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Noblesville is set to challenge their familiar foe Brownsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
