Football Game Preview: Isabella Mustangs vs. Lamar County Bulldogs

The Isabella Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Lamar County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Isabella was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 33-28 to Vincent. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Isabella had strong showings from Levi WiLkins, who threw for 172 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and Aj Fjeldstad, who picked up 68 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Fjeldstad also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Lamar County came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 15-8 win over Aliceville on Friday.

Isabella now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lamar County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Isabella took their win against Lamar County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 31-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
