Basketball Recap: Jahari Miller Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Center Grove

Pike won the last time they faced Center Grove and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Red Devils took down the Trojans 55-38. Those 55 points were actually the fewest the Red Devils have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Pike's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jahari Miller, who posted 13 points. Miller is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Hill, who had seven points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Center Grove's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhys Oliver, who put up nine points. Braden Goodpaster was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Pike pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points over those games. As for Center Grove, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Pike will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lake Central at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Center Grove, they will be home for the holidays to greet Whiteland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' defense better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 63.2 points per game this season.
