Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne was the 6-2 winner over York when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adrian Contreras was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Contreras was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Wayne now has a losing record of 6-7. As for York, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Wayne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Holdrege on the 13th. As for York, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-1 win against Twin River on the 13th.
