Softball Recap: River City Takes a Loss

Pleasant Grove hit River City with a four-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell 11-6 to the Eagles. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Hailey Flint made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Sauceda, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

River City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River City will welcome Sacramento at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will take on Monterey Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Mustangs have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
