Basketball Recap: Tipton Falls Short Against Ranked Skyline

On Thursday, Tipton faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Tipton Cardinals fell just short of the Skyline Tigers by a score of 64-62. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Tipton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Schlotzhauer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Schlotzhauer's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Carvajal, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Tipton's loss dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Skyline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Tipton has already played their next matchup, a 73-55 defeat against Lutheran on the 7th. As for Skyline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-36 loss against Fair Grove on the 8th.
