Cannon County found a leader in Eli Garrett as the team took down Smith County on Friday. Garrett did his part (and then some), throwing for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 48 yards for the 'W'. He has become a key player for Cannon County: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Coming up, Garrett and Cannon County will venture away from home to challenge Jackson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will enter the matchup having just beaten Trousdale County, so the Lions will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
