Basketball Recap: Shaw Takes a Loss

Shaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 84-50 loss at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Patriots. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Quinn Kwasniak was his usual excellent self, shooting 9-for-17 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a triple-double on 53 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists for Cornerstone Christian. Kwasniak's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Funk, who went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points along with eight assists and five steals.

Shaw's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Shaw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-42 loss against Maple Heights on the 17th. Cornerstone Christian has also already played their next contest, a 94-78 defeat against Warrensville Heights on the 18th.
