Basketball Recap: Chase Burches Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tylertown

The Springfield Bulldogs didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Tylertown Chiefs on Monday, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Burches, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 18 points and four steals. Burches' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dequincy Davis, who posted nine points and six steals.

Springfield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Tylertown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Springfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-62 defeat against St. Amant on the 25th. As for Tylertown, they will venture away from home to challenge Provine at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Chiefs will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.57 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
