Softball Recap: Kaila Ignacio and Daeja Piggee Secure Win for West Seattle

West Seattle's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Ingraham Rams get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. With that win, West Seattle brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Daeja Piggee and Kaila Ignacio made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Piggee struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Ignacio tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Piggee went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Ignacio went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Piggee a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Curry Uzwack, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Lefkowitz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

West Seattle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Seattle's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Ingraham, they moved to 9-11 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither West Seattle nor Ingraham have any future games scheduled.
