Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Redbank Valley). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Elk County Catholic Crusaders a 17-0 shutout on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mackenzie Foringer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Quinn White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Troup, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
Redbank Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive contests.
