Kodiak has gone 9-1 against Homer recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will host the Mariners. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Kodiak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Soldotna, who was ranked fourth at the time (Kodiak was ranked 11th). The Bears lost 14-6 to the Stars on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Stars: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Homer came up short against Soldotna on Tuesday, falling 18-6.

Homer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keagan Niebuhr, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Amakah Stineff was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Homer's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Kodiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Kodiak got the 'W' when the teams last played on May 2nd against Homer by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
