United South extended their postseason success on Thursday against Los Fresnos. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Juan P Briseno spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, United South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

United South hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

United South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Los Fresnos, the loss snapped their winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 28-4-2 record.

United South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
