Despite the loss, Irmo still got an impressive performance from Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr., who rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Brand Jr.'s rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 107 rushing yards. Donovan Murph was Brand Jr.'s top target, picking up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Irmo's defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-2. As for Northwestern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
