Basketball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Innovation Bulls

The Lake Nona Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Innovation Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Nona will be strutting in after a victory while Innovation will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Lake Nona beat Orlando Christian Prep 56-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Among those leading the charge was Moises Valdez, who posted 12 points. Xavier Perez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Innovation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to Colonial on the road by a 67-53 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while the Grenadiers are ranked 134th).

Lake Nona's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Innovation, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Lake Nona took their victory against Innovation in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 68-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Nona since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
