Basketball Recap: Zion-Benton Falls Despite Big Games from London Davis and Victoria Hunter

Zion-Benton's game on Monday was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 46-39 defeat to the Harvard Hornets. The Zee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zion-Benton's loss came despite strong showings from Victoria Hunter and London Davis. Hunter went 7 for 13 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds, while Davis posted nine points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hunter a new career-high in points.

Zion-Benton's record is now 2-13. As for Harvard, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Zion-Benton will take on Lake Zurich at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harvard, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hiawatha at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harvard is facing Hiawatha at the right time seeing as Hiawatha is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
