Soccer Game Preview: Jesuit vs. Oak Ridge

The Jesuit Marauders will challenge the Oak Ridge Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jesuit's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Oak Ridge will have to contend with a Jesuit team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since January 14. Neither Jesuit nor Del Oro could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. That draw made it three straight for the Marauders.

Meanwhile, Oak Ridge also has not seen a win for a while (their last was back in January), and their game on Tuesday was sadly no different. They fell just short of Davis Sr. by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 53rd).

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-4. Jesuit's draw gives them a new season record of 3-5-8.

Jesuit was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Ridge in their previous meeting back in January, winning 2-0. Will Jesuit repeat their success, or does Oak Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
