Football Recap: Brookstone Comes Up Short Despite Charlie Peak's Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brookstone can now relate to. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stratford Academy Eagles on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-14 back in September.

Even if they lost, Brookstone's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Charlie Peak with two. He has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last six times he's played. Brookstone got some further help from Matthew Archibald: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Stratford Academy found their leader in sophomore Maddox Whitehead, who picked up five sacks and made 13 total tackles (8.0 for loss). Aaron Jefferson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles.

The loss snapped Brookstone's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-3 record. As for Stratford Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

As of now, neither Brookstone nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
