The Mariners came out on top in a nail-biter against the Seahawks, sneaking past 3-2. The game was the first time East Carteret have beaten Southside on their pitch since October 20, 2016.

East Carteret's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Pamlico Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.
