Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Lucy Beckham

Berkeley is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Lucy Beckham Bengals at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Berkeley took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Colleton County 4-1. The score was close at the half, but the Stags pulled away in the second half with two goals.

They hit Colleton County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Johnathan Hazelton (2), Steven Prieto, and Ryland Curwen.

Meanwhile, Lucy Beckham made easy work of Waccamaw on Saturday and carried off a 7-1 victory. With the Bengals ahead 5-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

The win made it two in a row for Lucy Beckham and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those two games. As for Berkeley, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
