Baseball Game Preview: Luray Bulldogs vs. Strasburg Rams

The Luray Bulldogs will head out to take on the Strasburg Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Strasburg took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Luray, who comes in off a win.

Luray's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Central Woodstock. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Luray saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Cubbage, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Strasburg didn't have quite enough to beat Central Woodstock on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Strasburg's defeat dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Luray, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Luray has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Strasburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Luray suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Strasburg when the teams last played back in April. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
