Softball Recap: Live Oak Comes Up Short

Live Oak lost against Marysville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Live Oak Lions fell just short of the Marysville Indians by a score of 10-9.

Olivia Duran and Paige Medeiros stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duran scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Medeiros went 3-for-4 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave Medeiros a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyric Wiggins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marysville, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Live Oak didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Lindhurst on the 4th. As for Marysville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-2 defeat against Colusa on the 4th.
