Basketball Recap: Carrollton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Hayden Mcmurtrie and Lauren Flowers

After flying high against Greenfield/Northwestern last Thursday, Carrollton came back down to earth. The Carrollton Hawks received a blow on Monday as they fell 69-55 to the Brown County Hornets. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Despite the loss, Carrollton had strong showings from Lauren Flowers, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, and Hayden Mcmurtrie, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. Flowers' evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Carrollton dropped their record down to 6-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brown County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Carrollton will take on Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brown County, they will take on Morton in a tournament on Saturday.
