Softball Game Preview: Jordan Beetdiggers vs. Murray Spartans

Jordan is 0-7 against Murray since March of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Beetdiggers will venture away from home to face off against the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Thursday, Jordan came up short against East and fell 8-4.

Jordan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giselle Aguilar, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Aguilar's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Murray fell victim to San Juan and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Broncos. The game marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Murray, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Murray struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Jordan suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Murray in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Beetdiggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
